Hi there!

My Scanner died with a lot of noise, caused by a incorrect stepping. The
scan-unit went for and back in little steps, but could move.

e.g. for a preview-scan it moves from the starting place to the middle,
stopping there and going back, the image is stretched.

Trying a normal scan it makes so much noise, that I abort the scan.

As I remember, there was a message stating something about fragmentation, but
I'm not sure before or after the last working scan.

The last correct scan was a tpa-scan with a high resolution, maybe 1200 dpi.

Most scans I made werde in resolutions < 1200 dpi using the normal or the
tpa-unit.

My Power Supply seems not to be broken as the lamps are correctly on, the
scanning unit moves - I think the motor or the electronic parts to control
the motor have died. Especially as the movements make terrible noise!

I hope this helps!

CU
Alexander
