Hi!
Could somebody nice person tell me, what I'm doing wrong? I have, as
mentioned at the subject:
- Plustek OpticPro P12 with paraller port connection
- Red Hat 8.0
I'm using Sane-backends version 1.0.8. Paraller port is set to be in
EPP-mode.
The install procedure goes very nicely, until it's time to do "make load":
[root@val143 plustek_driver]# make load
/sbin/modprobe pt_drv || exit 1
/lib/modules/2.4.18-17.8.0/misc/pt_drv.o: init_module: Success
Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters, including
invalid IO or IRQ parameters.
You may find more information in syslog or the output from dmesg
/lib/modules/2.4.18-17.8.0/misc/pt_drv.o: insmod
/lib/modules/2.4.18-17.8.0/misc/pt_drv.o failed
/lib/modules/2.4.18-17.8.0/misc/pt_drv.o: insmod pt_drv failed
make: *** [load] Error 1
[root@val143 plustek_driver]#
At the same time, my scanner's light flashes. The parport -modules are
loaded, but pt_drv isn't:
[root@val143 plustek_driver]# /sbin/lsmod | grep parport
parport_pc 19108 0
parport 37152 0 [parport_pc]
[root@val143 plustek_driver]# /sbin/lsmod | grep pt_drv
[root@val143 plustek_driver]#
Could whole scanner be broken? The scanner didn't work either at Windows
(2000). If I remember correctly, the Windows drivers said "could not
connect to scanner" or something like that.
Please, ask more information if it's needed.
