Here we might have the problem!!! EPP(ECP) isn't
good for the scanner (or at least for the driver)

The scanner is detected, but the memory test fails!
This might be because the memory is defective OR more
possible the connection is not good.
Go and change your BIOS settings for the parport to EPP
no ECP or something like that!
