YES and NO! It's only correct if /dev/usbscanner is a link to
/dev/usb/scanner0

Great so /dev/usbscanner works as well. P6#... is the image data.
You should use scanimage -d plustek:/dev/usbscanner > img.pnm
to save the picture data.

Scan! All looks okay, so what. Can't you scan using xsane?
Try xscanimage...
