At least the 1260 is the same as the 1250 was (from
a technical point of view). I don't think that it is a bad
choice so far although it's rather expensive...

Linux support is also available (Plustek-backend >= 0.45TEST4 and
EPSONs' own backend iscan)

Other good devices (because the image quality is good and they're
pretty small) are the CanoScan devices...
