Dear Gerhard,
My second EPSON Perfection 1260 scanner died under my hands this
afternoon. Afterwards, Google quickly brought me to a discussion
of some two months ago describing that the same had happened to
other people already.
Both scanners died when I tried, with xscanimage, to make a full-
colour scan at 1200 dpi (the first) and 2400 dpi (the second)
resolution. The second scanner worked well for some days at
resolutions below 1200 dpi.
Would you appreciate more information on my settings or do you
have enough already?
I did not find whether there is already some sort of solution.
Do you expect that you will manage to provide a workaround, or
should I try to convince the shop where I bought my scanner that
they allow me to change it for a different brand?
