Hi.
I'm a newcomer to this list and I want to tell about some things
of my plustek usage experience, and I want to help to improve this
useful driver.
I'm using SANE version 1.0.9 + Plustek 0.45-TEST1 and XSane 0.73, all
of that under SuSE Linux 8.0 + kernel 2.4.18 + VIA KT400 with disabled
USB 2.0 settings. And my scanner is UMAX Astra 3450.
I've tried Plustek version 0.44_10, but I've found that version
0.45-TEST1 works much better (preview works in XSane and motor works
much smother). But there's still some inaccuracy in motor settings.
I've also found that UMAX VistaScan drivers includes some very
interesting ini-files that contain a lot of miscellaneous info on that
scanner (and the motor settings constants). Have anybody seen these
files (I mean uns3400.ini, uns5400.ini, lm983x.def)? Maybe I should
post them here (about 30K totally)? I really want to help to improve
this driver.
