After seeking for almost a year for a Plustek Scanner Driver for my
4831P I have found a link to your page in the Linux Hardware How To,
searching for a possible sustitute to the 4831P. It works very well with
NT 4.0, but Linux is MY operating system from almost four years now. And
I can't use the 4831P with it. So inmediately I downloaded SANE-1.0.3
from Tucows and your driver, plustek-sane-0_36_35.tar.gz. I believe I
have compiled both as indicated in your page, but in doing "make load" I
get:

and insmod pt_drv failed for each one.
I have installed Suse 6.4 with SCSI emulation for a plextor cdrw AND
KERNEL 2.2.17 downloaded from ftp.kernel.org. I don't use 2.2.14 or the
Suse original kernels. Have any ideas of what is wrong? Anyway, thanks a
lot for your work to bring us a Plustek driver!
PD: I have made a identical installation of the above over a Red Hat
Linux 7.0 over kernel 2.2.17 (but no SCSI emulation) too with identical
results!
