Hi,

in general, the parport driver autodetects the capabilities of
your parport.
First the setting in the BIOS has to be EPP. Then your 
kernel must be configured to use the IEEE1284 transfer modes.

After that, the parport module should tell you that EPP is available...
You might leave all the stuff (except the BIOS) untouched an try
the plustek-module switch forceMode=2, this should even use
EPP when the parport modules does not detect EPP - but this does
not work in any case - just try.
