Yup, second question in the same day!

I've noticed that more and more people are finding some difficulties in using the readme instructions constructively
to compile and install their plustek code.
If I recall correctly, the plustek module has instructions based on a SUSE distribution, so it seems to me that
 some of the difficulty stems from the fact that the readme describes behaviour that isn't supposed to occur (or 
perhaps occur differently) when using Debian and Debian-based dists.


So naturally I wondered if it were possible to outline the correct procedure/detail levels for *other* distributions, perhaps as
simply an extra line or two in the doc.
