I recently upgraded to RedHat 7.2, which includes SANE 1.0.5 (I
think...), and so I upgraded to the latest pt_drv v39.7. Unfortunately,
this turned out to be a problem, since I was getting that I/O error
during full-page scans. I poked around a bit before spotting a message
on the mailing list that there is a problem with 39.7 and that 39.3 is
the best bet in the meantime. I fell back to 39.3 and everything works
perfectly again. Hurray!

Anyway, if there is anything I can do as far as helping fix the problem,
let me know. I turned on debugging and started working through the code,
so I'm already partly focused on the problem, for what it's worth.

Also, may I ask why the Plustek driver is not distributed with SANE or
perhaps even part of the kernel package in general? It seems goofy to
install SANE and then have to go hunting for the Plustek driver
separately....
