You mean this is a known issue with this particular motherboard?

I spent days trying to figure out the problem. I tried different modes, SPP/ECP/EPP 1.7/1.9 etc. Nothing. So it's a problem with the kernel then? I'm using 2.4.17 at the moment. The scanner still works great in Win98SE. I just hate having to boot into windows to do a quick scan.

I guess it's about time to get a new scanner. The Plustek is a pretty old scanner now. This'll give me a good reason to get a new USB scanner. Anyone else have a ECS K7S5A? What scanner are you using?
