Gpsim is crashing with this message:

Try this:

gpsim -s p12c508_test.cod

The -s specifies a symbol file. Otherwise gpsim thinks you want to load a 
hex file. It's bad taste on gpsim's part to crash, so I look at a way to 
fix this.
