Could you tell me which processor you're simulating? How are you invoking gpsim? I have fixed a similar error recently, but it was more than a couple of days ago. But the fact that you're showing the "attach.." debug message indicates that this may be a CVS snapshot from two weeks ago. You may wish trying to grab a more recent snapshot.
