Subject:
picp/gpicp beta code
From: Jeff ####@####.#### Date: 21 Jun 2004 22:53:04 +0100 Message-Id: <200406212153.i5LLr42M027204@ylpvm15.prodigy.net> Beta test versions of picp-0.6.3 and gpicp-0.0.8 are available at http://home.pacbell.net/theposts/picmicro/beta INHX32 files are now supported (but mostly untested). picp-0.6.3-beta1: ------------------- 1) -rp outputs only those hex records that contain non-blank data. This makes for typically much smaller hex files when reading program memory. Reading eeprom data outputs the entire data space. 2) Checksums in Intel hex records are verified. 3) The command 'picp' outputs only the usage message--to get a list of supported devices use 'picp -d' with no other options. 4) Erasing flash parts will first read the configuration registers, save any factory set bits (eg: band gap), and restore those bits in the config registers after erasure. The only chips I know of to which this applies are 12f629, 12f675, 16f630, and 16f676. If you know of others, please inform me so I can make appropriate entries in the PIC definitions. gpicp-0.0.8-beta1: -------------------- 1) Display of configuration bits and ID locations will be updated when a hex file is opened if the hex file contains records for them. 2) Miscellaneous code cleanup and fixes.
