Check the gnupic archives to see the last status on it. It wasn't ready for public consumption. Hence the move. From: Alexey Zyryanov ####@####.#### Date: 2 Jun 2006 22:48:44 +0100 Message-Id: <4480B265.7040801@yandex.ru> Hi! As far as I know, GPAL is planned to reborn some day... If you'll decide to select another compiler, it's a good idea to go to http://www.gnupic.org or to http://www.rfc1149.net/devel/picforth. There are good lists of compilers. If you like languages like GPAL, I'd suggest you to look at JAL <http://jal.sourceforge.net/> project: its syntax is very close to one used in GPAL. Also you may choose SDCC, if you prefer C programming language. Another good choice is Forth <http://pic18forth.sourceforge.net/>, <http://www.rfc1149.net/devel/picforth> - a language with unusual syntax, but a lot of power inside. And, at the end of this list, I can't say nothing about Pyastra <http://pyastra.sourceforge.net/>, a choice for the case you like Python programming language. GPAL was and still is alpha status code. It's not ready for production use. sdcc is a more mature product of course. And there's always gpasm which is rock solid. I've been using it for projects over the last several years. I just think it's a bad idea to pin your development of a system that currently isn't released and is in the alpha stage of development.
