What type of information are you looking for? So far EPSON has not
released any information about the Perfection 1250, but I can certainly
try to ask questions as long as I know what to ask for. I have zero
experience with the LM983x chips or scanners based on these chips, so
I need somebody to tell me what to do...

I have a Genius HR6 V2 USB scanner which uses LM983x. I would like to give
some feedback but I have no idea how to setup SANE. The bearpaw-test or
soemthing like that standalone .c file did turn on its lamp and moved its
head.

Please tell me how can I check this module so I can tell you about its
extent of working. I have enough C/C++ experience on linux as well, and I am
not expecting you to write a module just for me, but if I can help in
generalizing this module, why not?

Hi Karl Heinz,

the general framework for LM983x (x=1 or 2, maybe 3) has already been
done. With this framework, it is possible to make such devices work,
by adding the Vendor and Product ID and other basic settings to the
internal device list...

What I need, is someone with an EPSON 1250 and some experience in
hacking...
By optaining the specs of the EPSON 1250 (the IDs, DPI and memory info)
I'm able to prepare the driver code, so the backend is able to recognise
the device. To make it work at least, some finetuning is necessary
(hopefully) and this can only be done by somebody owning this scanner type...

In the meantime, Henning (for the Mustek Bearpaws) and Stefan (for the
HP2200c) are checking the code and trying to make it work for their LM983x
based devices...

Hope this answers you question
Gerhard
